Lyrics

A Lost Chance

Sometimes I run,
Not having fun,
Looking in the sun for answers.

My heart is missing.
My brain is hissing.
My lips are kissing against hers.

But then I wake.
My heart will break.
I know my mistake wasn't worth it.

I must think real,
Say what I feel,
Play what they deal and take a hit.

My thoughts got away,
No longer at bay.
I wish I could say just what I thought.

I stare in her eyes,
Searching the "why's",
Holding my guise to not be caught.

But it's not easy,
Feelin' kinda cheesy,
A bit uneasy as I advance.

I start to get near.
I feel that fear.
I cannot veer and take that chance.

I say my name,
Like it's a game.
She thinks the same, maybe it's a sign.

She smiles so grand,
Gives me her hand.
Even it is tanned and looks so fine.

She says, "hi,"
Looks me in the eye,
I don't know why, but I smile.

Up, her lips curl.
My heart starts to whirl.
I talk to this girl all the while.

She seems so nice,
Got me in a vice,
Feelin' like some mice before a cat.

She says goodbye,
Looks me in the eye.
I don't know why, but I just sat.

She walked away.
I wish she'd stay,
And that's the last day I saw her face.

Her number I lack.
I lost my knack.
I won't go back to that place.
