Lyrics

A Slap in the Face

Sometimes we need a slap in the face
To realize the time we waste
We flaunt our possessions and worry and ponder
And so much time we misuse and squander

Actions we must step forth and take
Showing who we are, not what we fake
Being true to ourselves and to our friends
With the real ones we can always make amends

So we live life the way it was meant
Socialistic ideals, away, are sent
We are free to be anything we want
No regrets of our actions can ever haunt

Some anarchy we will have to cause
Just to make everyone stop and pause
To realize things were good before
And soon they'll be great once more

Straight lines are for the boring pawns
For people like that I have many yawns
The exciting life of a brave knight
Would better make me feel right

There's a girl not more than a friend
She can crack my mind and mend
She certainly slapped my game
I will never again be the same

Thanks for having those sharp nails
You enumerated my boring tales
You clawed out my heart and dropped it on the ground
I dusted it off, restoring it safe and sound

Thanks for those lessons and the pain
Once again I am glad to never be sane
There was so much time that I did waste
I'm glad you slapped me in the face
