Lyrics

Being Whom I Must

They asked me, begged me,
To be so great.
What could I do,
Attached to my fate?

I could be me,
Not a thing more.
They said I'd be the best,
And big I would score.

I said I'll be who I am,
And that is all.
I could be on the top,
Or I could fall.

As long as I was true,
To my heart inside.
My real goals and desires,
With few I'd confide.

I'd try my best,
To be an extreme,
To stand out so much,
Like the bright sun's beam.

But if I were ordinary,
Just a common man,
Let me have my family,
And live as I plan.
