Lyrics

Driving Angry

By Ian G. Clifton

You're pissing him off
Get out of his way
He's moving so fast
And you just stay

The car is good
The driver is great
He's turning and burning
Flying with hate

Lock the brakes
Change lanes so fast
The tires are squealing, pealing
They won't last

A stop is inconvenient
Slamming through the gears
Leaving all behind
Forgetting all fears

It's the ride of life
Engine screaming with strain
All the choices to make
Boiling on his brain

The smell of rubber
Thick in the air
Driver's face blank
Ruffling his hair

The world is dark
Black all around
Then it is filled
With the engine's sound

All flies past
A metaphor of life
Car splitting air
Deadly as a knife

He's always in control
Or so he'll say
But he's on the edge
Of losing it today
