Lyrics

Lover of Tears

She never could say no
She never had a backbone
She never did anyone wrong
She never went far from home

Her parents didn't abuse her
But it was everyone around
The whole time she just took it
She didn't make a sound

She was the perfect person
Living a life of pain
And everyone around her
Used her for their own gain

She couldn't make them stop
She didn't have the heart
She wanted everyone else happy
She wasn't all that smart

But she just kept smiling away
Taking the good with the bad
Few realized all the things she did
Few realized how little she had

They just took it from her
And raped her in every way
They used her and dropped her
She never had anything to say

Inside she was hurting
But she put on her daily mask
I could see it inside her
Questions she was burning to ask

She wanted to know why
She wanted to know more
She wanted to understand
She wanted something to live for

But what could I tell her
A lie wouldn't do
She had seen the world
And pain she certainly knew

She had suffered so long
I wanted to hug her so
But she wouldn't let me close
Her pain I did not know

As much as she needed help
She pushed everyone away
She was a victim of her past
And healing wouldn't happen in a day

I just keep on waiting
Hoping she will get well
But the only way for her to heal
Is to let her heart tell

She has to let out the pain
Make room for some caring
Eventually she'll learn
To hug and not lose her bearing

I just keep on waiting
Hoping she will get well
But the only way for her to heal
Is to let her heart tell

She has to let out the pain
Make room for some caring
Eventually she'll learn
To hug and not lose her bearing
