Lyrics

Musing

By Ian G. Clifton

The times are changing
Maybe I'm just forgetting
Either way I don't know where I'm standing

The mirrors lie to me
They don't know what I can see
Everyone seems to trust them just the same

The makeup on the girls
They're living in some other world
Should we tell them reality is okay

Disregard what you might believe
There are few these girls do deceive
They're not the ones worth caring about anyway

Knights go unnoticed
Yet fools are never missed
Why does our society accept this

Our leaders are liars
Our money funds their desires
Honesty and a good heart I so miss

War is rather weak
It creates an urge to shriek
Charity is stronger in the end

Help out a stranger
Pull him out of danger
Give him a reason to call you friend

Everyone's in a hurry
Cars dancing in a flurry
Has all the courtesy been left behind

Everyone tries to judge
Never dropping an old grudge
Living with hate is living blind

Rain you shouldn't despise
Sun takes sight from your eyes
Deserts are too dry for the likes of me

But humidity is death
It steals your very breath
Making life intolerable to a degree

I guess I should smile
And laugh all the while
We all set our own mood by such things

It's too hard to frown
That just keeps you down
You never know what today brings
