Visual Art

I have many hobbies and a few of them fall into the category of "Visual Art." Since I am never able to focus on just one hobby, it's not surprising that I am largely an amateur at all of my hobbies. Despite that I'm not a great artist for whom the next Ninja Turtle will be named, I am sharing my creations here. I've always found amateur artwork more interesting than that of professionals, so maybe someone else out there is like me.

Photography

Photography is all about capturing a moment. Sometimes it's a simple snapshot of a mountain. Sometimes it's a stylistic shot of shadows. Whether it's beauty that anyone can see or beauty that an artist's eye alone can notice, I try to capture it. As with all of my art, I am an amateur, so I often take dozens of photos that don't turn out well (not that all of these are great), but I keep at it.

Paintings

Paintings are traditional paintings done with canvas and paint (i.e., no digital painting, airbrushing, etc.). The first paintings I did were all with acrylic paint, but I have since begun to almost exclusively use oils.

Sculptures

Sculptures is really a broad category covering "physical art." It encompasses anything that has dimension to it, excluding paintings. Currently, I only have "Wood Burnings" in this category, but I would like to do actual sculptures at some point in the future.

Digital Art

Digital Art is any artwork that involves heavy use of a computer. Some of the art is created from scratch and some of it is created by starting with a photo and manipulating it. I recently acquired a graphics tablet, so I hope to have time to add more to this section in the future.
