I used oil and acrylic paint to complete this painting. It is based on a photograph of my father racing his kart.

I used acrylic for the initial background, later modifying it with oil. The kart itself is entirely made of oil. For my first use of this medium, it turned out pretty well, but it helps that the subject matter was so cool. I didn't do a lot of detail, and I learned that oils are VERY different from acrylics (very, very, very...), but I had a lot of fun experimenting, and I learned a great deal. Doing fine lettering is especially different between the two mediums, as you can tell by my poor implementation of it.
