Painting

Park Breeze Date: February 27th, 2006 Medium: Acrylic Size: 12" by 16"

Info

I dabbed back in acrylic paint for this one, though I should have used oils. This is based on a photograph I took of Ashley at a park with water shooting up behind her.

I completely modified the background so it would be less distracting and focused on her. Unfortunately I messed up on the size of the head (when I originally put down a light underpainting, I included her hair in the size of the head, but when I painted it, I expanded her hair out from where the underpainting was) and it killed what could have been a great painting. Focusing on the good... the shirt turned out nicely (she was wearing a white t-shirt with a spaghetti-strapped white shirt underneath that you could just slightly see in real life). I do like that the hair is flowing some in the wind.
