On September 1st, I took a whale-watching trip that was several hours long. This was when I had only one lens for my camera, which maxed out an just 55mm. Fortunately, some of the whales came rather close to all of us onlookers and gave us a good show. At some points, there were whales all around, and you could hear them breaking through the water and shooting mist out of their blow holes. At another point, two of the whales went under us, and the ship rocked as everyone rushed to the other side to watch them. They're certainly amazing creatures.
